About

Hello there and bienvenue à Mondegreen!

I’m Venkatram Harish Belvadi, founder and current administrator of the well-known physics website for the layman, The Scientific Papers and nominee of the Internationally acclaimed Jawaharlal Nehru Award for Creative Writing. Mondegreen is my magnum opus: the result of four years of experience in blogging, this is my permanent weblog where I write on a spectrum of topics ranging from my musings and opinions to fictional pieces to snippets and quick treatises related to music, to satirical pieces; and of course there are my weekly photographs.

I am an avid reader, writer, cyclist, swimmer, aspiring physicist and amateur violinist; have great passion for the theatre and particularly like learning new languages. I have, though, only begun my quest with French, which I can understand to a considerable degree (aussi longtemps que vous ne parlez pas les mots difficile et très rapide) Let us hope you understood that. It does not matter, of course, if you did not, so long as I sounded smart. [The picture you see at the head of this page is my coat of arms.]

For my purpose in blogging, I have divided Mondegreen (to find out what exactly that is, read my first quick snippet here) into five categories you can access from the archive page:

  1. Musings and all that: This is where I write my musings on curious topics, my opinion on world events and all related things. So long as it is something singular and entirely my brain, you will find it here.
  2. Satire: My personal favourite of the lot; this is my domain of satirical pieces for you to laugh with, but, more importantly, develop concern towards.
  3. Fiction, Non-Fiction, Guides &c.: This is really another name I have used to say miscellaneous. But note that most posts here will be works of fiction, such as short stories, non fiction such as recounts of events and/or people, guides to things I just figured out which you probably have not and…&c!
  4. Music: I play the violin, so you can expect some such category here. And this explains itself.
  5. Photography: I have decided to post one photograph every week from my amateurish skills in the art, which may not appeal to you. I call these shutter: posts (I wanted to be different because we have got many photograph: posts all over the Web.) To find out legal rights to borrowing or stealing any of my photographs (so I will not have to sue you later) read the first shutter: post.

Then let us see how I have arranged the pages that you can access from the thumbnails at the head:

  1. Home: Clearly, you arrive first at the Home page so you know all about it. That is the page you first arrive at!
  2. About: Need I say anything?
  3. Readers: Now this is a set of pages (consisting of Downloads, Legal Notice and Disclaimer & Privacy Policy pages under it as of the date of writing this page) from where you can download books (wallpapers coming soon) read al legal stuff related to Mondegreen and read my disclaimer and privacy policy for your good (be sure to read at least this last page compulsorily!)
  4. Blogroll: This is a categorised set of interesting links that I recommend to my interested readers like yourself. I keep updating this very carefully so make sure you keep returning for great new links. If you like something added, contact me (and if it is your site, make sure you have good justification for recommending it.) Parenthetically, you might want to regularly consult my recommended links list in the sidebar. I update this on a monthly basis and so new links just keep coming up!
  5. Contribute: You can learn here how to guest blog for Mondegreen (you already learned what that means!) Guest blogging is something like half an ethic in the blogosphere: you write for other’s blogs to gain recognition and reach out an audience. Guest blogging for Mondegreen will help you achieve both of these tremendously.
  6. Archive: Like my blog library, the archive page will give you quick access to all posts I have ever written (or my contributing authors have ever written) and you can spend an entire evening just skimming and scanning through that.
  7. Advertise: Adding on to what I said when I was explaining the Contribute page, you can learn how to advertise on Mondegreen and reach a varied yet targeted audience. This page also tells you how you can advertise on my website, The Scientific Papers, where you can reach an even larger audience. Complete details are available on the page itself.
  8. Contact: At last! A page where you can contact me. Find three methods to do that and a little else.

Reading all this is tiresome, yes?

I suggest you freshen up by reading my latest posts now. Click here to quickly jump home!
